A: MYHOODMUSIC is a digital download site that offers music and video files from a variety of urban artists.  We pride ourselves in catering to the underground music scene.  Through the MYHOODMUSIC Digital Registry, all rights holders (large, medium, and small) can register their content and manage its distribution by placing their MYHOODMUSIC digital store on any website as well as by selling tracks through a variety of online retailers.

Q: Why MYHOODMUSIC?
A: Our mission is to bring the music from the streets to more people through more outlets. By signing up with MYHOODMUSIC, you are in control! You can sell your music on any website where you place your MYHOODMUSIC digital store.

Q: Is my relationship with MYHOODMUSIC Exclusive?
A: No. Registering your songs with MYHOODMUSIC does not inhibit your ability to get signed to a label or sign distribution deals with digital retailers. Once registered, you have complete control over where you place your MYHOODMUSIC digital store.

Q: How do I access my download after purchase?
A: A window will pop-up on your web browser that will provide a download link.

Q: What happens if after my purchase the download page fails to appear?
A: .This generally happens when your pop-up blocker settings are disabled on your web browser. If you have problems with your download please email customer service at myhoodmusic@gmail.com.

Q: What file formats are available on MYHOODMUSIC?
A: Audio files are available in .mp3 and video files are in Quicktime.m4v format.

Q: I downloaded a music video from MYHOODMUSIC. Why can’t I view it?
A: All video files are in Quicktime .m4v format.  Download Quicktime 7 for free at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Q: How do I add my content to your database?
A: MYHOODMUSIC is available to both Independent and signed artists.  All artists will need to be pre-approved by MYHOODMUSIC before they are added to the site.  For submissions contact us at myhoodmusic@gmail.com for consideration.

Q: What is a MYHOODMUSIC digital store?
A: This is a digital store that allows artists to sell audio/video content through online communities and websites.

Q: Who handles accounting and royalty distribution?
A: MYHOODMUSIC handles all artists digital stores back end and collects money from customers who purchase content, provides you with the ability to track your sales online, and provides payout at the end of each month.

Q: What does MYHOODMUSIC charge for a digital store?
A: MYHOODMUSIC charges a 30% fee per download that includes all the costs of providing the digital store: the bandwidth, storage, PayPal and payment management costs, customer service, artist page, and provides a detailed customer database.

Q: How often do I get paid by MYHOODMUSIC?
A: You, the rights holder, will be paid at the end of each calendar month. We deposit your sales dollars on a monthly basis into the bank account you provide us or paypal account. If your earnings do not exceed $20, the balance will be rolled over to the following months until you reach the $20 minimum..
